Michael Burke is the Chief Strategy Officer of Reef and serves on its board of directors. Previously, Michael was named COO in 2018 and has helped guide the operations of Reef and its subsidiaries in their diverse business services related to debt and equity financing. Mr. Burke provides priority management and comprehensive operational oversight and direction to the Company to support its day to day functions. Before assuming the COO role with Reef, Mr. Burke served in an executive capacity as President of Select Fund Management, a private fund manager that focused on creating pooling investment vehicles to participate in the transactions sourced and managed by Reef Private Credit and Reef Private Equity. In this role he was instrumental in structuring and managing private offerings for a multitude of vehicles investing in both real estate private equity and private credit transactions. Before founding Select Fund Management, Mr. Burke spent several years with a private loan servicing firm, first as Corporate Controller and then later as the head of Risk Management. Mr. Burke has over a decade of experience managing complex litigation and real property workouts, including serving as CFO for a distressed oil refinery from 2009 to 2012. His direction was instrumental in turning the refining facility and business from distress to profitability resulting in successful liquidation at a substantial profit. Mr. Burke began his career focusing on accounting and financial management while working for public international accounting firms as well as various early-stage privately held companies. Mr. Burke holds a B.S. in Accounting and a M.Acc. in Accounting, both from Brigham Young University.
